May selection: The Female Persuasion.

The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer_0

Join us either Saturday, May 26 at 3:00 pm (note the time!), or Tuesday, May 29 at 7:00 pm, to discuss Meg Wolitzer’s The Female Persuasion, a novel exploring feminism and intersectionality as a lived practice. Even “good” feminists sometimes make decisions based more on their own self-interest than on what is “good” for other women–even our own closest friends.

Some of Meg Wolitzer’s other novels include The Wife, The Uncoupling, and The Interestings.

Pick up your copy of The Female Persuasion at the Astoria Bookshop and receive 10% off. Thanks as always to Lexi & crew for hosting us!

  1. Suggestion! “Juliet Takes a Breath” by Gabby Rivera. Rivera’s book does a much better job tackling feminism and how the fight has changed and needs to keep changing. While reading this book, I was constantly thinking about how it did everything so much better that Wolitzer’s novel. Recommend!
